Supporting Public Schools and Public Education Across Lancaster, PA
PEAL is a grassroots organization dedicated to county-wide collaboration on issues related to Lancaster's public education system. We share information & resources to ensure public education in our communities is as strong as possible.
Our Guiding Principles
Support increasing the adequacy and equity of resources in education for all students (pre-school through post-secondary training), which would allow all students to have the opportunity to flourish now and in the future.
Prevent new efforts to divert the flow of funding and resources away from our local schools via any number of ways devised by legislators such as: voucher systems, education savings accounts, and cyber charter schools.
Remove barriers and ensure affirming spaces for students in Lancaster county who are marginalized or disadvantaged, whether due to race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, ability, religion, or any other identification.
PEAL Events
Our first conference was held on July 28, 2022. It was a successful meeting where individuals and community organizations from around the county came together to learn and exchange thoughts, ideas and strategies. Since then, we have grown our school district representation and continued these discussions in both small and larger group settings to strengthen public education for the wellbeing of our county.
